art journaling

In May 2010, my husband deployed to Afghanistan. As with his previous 4 deploymentss, I needed to find something to keep my time and mind occupied while he was away for those 7 months. Elsie had advertised an online art journaling class that would take place over the summer and it sounded perfect! I quickly signed up and jumped right in. It became a creative outlet and what was even better, I could spend as much time as I wanted doing it. I journaled every day.

Today I wanted to share some of my favorite pages from the my art journal:

Unfortunately after getting pregnant, welcoming my husband home and having the baby, my journal got tucked away and rarely did I ever think about adding to it. It's something that I've given up, even though I didn't do it intentionally. But it's something that I've been thinking about alot recently. I want to make more time for it because its something I enjoy.
